Minimum legal size: 30 cm
Bag/possession limit: 5 in all rivers and streams. 10 in all lakes and impoundments. Retained whole or in carcass form.
European Carp
Scientific Name: Cyprinus carpio
Minimum legal size: no minimum.
Bag/possession limit: no limit, must not be returned to the water alive given noxious status.
Freshwater Catfish
Scientific Name: Tandanus tandanus
Minimum legal size: 30 cm
Bag/possession limit: 2.
Freshwater catfish can be taken only from waters within the Wimmera Basin. Taking of freshwater catfish is prohibited in all other Victorian waters. Retained whole or in carcass form.
Murray Cod
Scientific Name: Maccullochella peelii
Legal size: Minimum 55cm - Maximum 75cm
Bag/possession limit: 2
Retained whole or in carcass form. Absolute state-wide possession limit: 5 or < 30 kg in any other form anywhere in Victoria.
Closed season: 1 Sept-30 Nov inclusive.
English Perch (Redfin)
Scientific Name: Perca fluviatilis
Minimum legal size: no minimum.
Bag/possession limit: no limit. Anglers are encouraged not to return redfin back to the water as they are a voracious predator that prey on native fish species and other aquatic organisms.
Anglers are reminded it is illegal to transport live fish without appropriate DEPI approval.
