Dimboola Fishing Classic Regulations
  1. Any fish is eligible for one prize only.
  2. Protests shall be lodged to the chief steward by no later than 3.30pm on the day of the Classic.
  3. Anglers must be present at the presentation to collect prizes.
  4. It is the responsibility of all entrants to comply with Victorian boating laws and adhere to local boating laws.
  5. The Dimboola Fishing Classic will run from 7.00am – 3pm.
  6. Bank fishing is permitted from the upstream side of the Dimboola weir to a sign marked “End of Classic” before Horse Shoe bend.
  7. Boat fishing is not permitted downstream of the Lloyd St. Boat ramp marked “Boats not Permitted”.
Dimboola Fishing Classic Rules
  1. The Dimboola Fishing Classic is a catch and release fishing event.
  2. Boat and bank fishing will be between the Lloyd St boat ramp and the "End of Classic sign just before Horse shoe bend. Bank fishing only between Lloyd St boat ramp and the Dimboola weir.
  3. All anglers in the senior category to hold a current Victorian fishing licence.
  4. Upon catching a fish, the steward will measure, record, release or take away.
  5. To be eligible for a prize, All native fish measured and released must swim away (Redfin are eligible in this category, but will be taken by the steward).
  6. Redfin and European Carp will be measured and taken by the steward (Carp is only eligible for the Carp prize)
  7. Size limits of eligible fish shall be according to Victorian fisheries regulations.
  8. Murray Cod will not be measured due to the competition being held out of Cod season.
  9. Injured, tethered or dead fish will not be accepted for measurement.
  10. Any fish measured by a steward will not be returned to the angler. Native fish will be released by the steward and non-native fish (Redfin and Carp) will be kept by the steward.
  11. A maximum of 2 fishing rods per angler with up to 2 hooks per line (lures / spinners count as 2 hooks)
  12. Anglers using illegal fishing equipment or baits will be disqualified from the event. Entry will not be refunded.
  13. Fishing off of the Wimmera St Bridge is prohibited.
  14. Fish will not be measured after 3pm
  15. The chief stewards decision will be final
Boats are not permitted between the Lloyd street boat ramp and the Dimboola weir during the Dimboola Fishing Classic. This area is for Bank Only.
